Project in collaboration with Pablo Rego Rivera
Enter Pharmakon, an immersive dining experience that invites the spectator to consume and (re)discover the transformative power of entheogenic rituals. We welcome you to sit for a moment with us to consume, explore, and reframe the origins, rituals and stories of eight organic psychoactive medicines:
Coffee, Cannabis, Psilocybin, Rapé, Kratom, Cacao, Blue Lotus Flower, and African Dream Seed.
This immersive altar of curiosities aims to foster thoughtful discourse, providing a space for dialogue and new understandings around the paradoxical nature of entheogens, helping us recognise their potential for profound healing, by exploring the roots of these medicinal substances across time and cultures.
Through mindful engagement with personalised tools and artifacts, we hope to honour and ritualise the consumption of each entheogen. As such, our table is also designed with the intention of sharing and engaging with the medicines as well as with everyone else present. It is a place for ceremony, exchange and discourse.
We invite the viewer to indulge their senses, nourish their curiosity, and embark on a journey to explore the harmony between ancient wisdom and the rhythms of contemporary existence.
